What are important symptoms of diabetes type 2?

I remember that one day, I somewhat  over indulged with that clear spirit originally from Poland,  Russia,  and  Sweden which is derived  from the  distillation of fermented potatoes and grains. The  following day I  endured the usual effects of having  too  much  to  drink.  I felt tired and weak, but could not eat anything until the  afternoon.

For me  that  was nothing unusual after  having too  much  to  drink. However, during  the  following  day, I  was  still suffering from the “hangover”. I felt tired, thirsty,  and, I  had  a  craving for bread. My  wife pointed out  that drinking water and  eating bread all  day was  not normal. I should  also  mention that  I  was  overweght with a relatively large girth. Dreading the  worst ,  I had a blood  test taken.

My glucose  level  was 600mg/100dl. I thought the results were  obviously wrong and asked myself  how  they  could possibly  be  so  high. After the  second test, reality  sunk in. I  was  shocked and  at  the  same  time frightened that  I was diabetic.  Feelings of  gulit  and  fear of  the  consequences  welled up from my  subconscious.

That was 15 years ago.

Common symptoms of Type  2 diabetes are:

                                                                              increased thirst

                                                                               increased hunger

                                                                               frequent urination

                                                                                fatigue

                                                                                blurred vision

weight loss and loss of  muscle  mass

                                                                                slow healing  sores

                                                                                frequent infections

                                                                                vaginal  or  penile thrush

numbness or tingling  in  the  hands or feet

                                                                                dryness of  skin

If the diabetes is left without intervention, the consquences are dire.
