Well, there is continued efforts to develop a once-a-year form of Exenetide (e.g. Byetta & Bydureon) through the use of a small osmotic pump that is implanted subcutaneously. Obviously tests are still under way and there are a lot more tests that will have to be executed and passed, but it is making headway! A minor office procedure once a year and no more shots! YEAH!!

See the attached link for general information about Intarcia and the Osmotic Pump: http://www.intarcia.com/products-technology/

See this link for the latest clinical test news: http://www.diabetesincontrol.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=13636&catid=1&Itemid=17

Hopefully this will be successful and available in the reasonably near future.
